Cycle and Dine with Team Sky’s Nicolas Roche is coming back in 2015.

After a run of ever growing success the Cycle and Dine Event has been confirmed as coming back to Midleton CTC for Saturday the 10th of October this year.

Now with Team Sky Nicolas will be back to cycle along side us all as well as tell us some new stories over dinner, hopefully about being part of a grand tour winning team this year.

Apparently Nico puts his Form down to testing himself mid winter against our members and it has now become an integral part of his training regime!?!, Maybe he will bring Froome and Wiggo with him? Then Peter Moloney can take them for some real climbing!

This year we have moved the event to a Saturday instead of the historical Sunday, hopefully catering to more peoples needs.

This event was recently re-confirmed after Club Committee Members Ken Savage, Dave Power, Jim Roche and Jonathan Finn presented proceeds from the 2014 event to Marymount Hospice to the tune of €5797.85, A sign of how successful the event was last year.

The cheque was presented to members of the Marymount team including Cormac Lawlor, Chairman of The friends of Marymount in late February but we delayed the news in order to be able to confirm the date of this years event at the same time.

Last years event was a great day and was due totally to the raft of helpers too many to mention so thank you.

Special Thanks to the three Companies who sponsored the event: Roca Sports, Munster Bike Fit Studio & Bike Mechanics and Premier Fasia Soffit & Gutters ltd and Thomas Cahill for organising the event and making that Big cheque for Marymount possible.

See you all in October.

Cold and windy conditions greeted our under age cyclists in Fermoy last Sunday.

Alanna Drennan had her debut outing in the under 12 race. She had a fantastic race finishing an impressive 7th over all. Definitely one to watch in the future.

Midleton CTC were well represented in the under 14 race with 5 boys taking to the start line. Pearse and Matthew Broderick finished strong just after the main bunch in 15th and 18th respectively. Just after them Adam and Luke O Brien and Elliot Gravina crossed the line. They worked well together in the tough conditions and are showing signs of improvement very early in the season. Over all they all raced very well and all of their hard training is paying off. Tim

" We are also very grateful to Tim Mahony who is a fantastic coach and mentor for us all" Rachel Drennan
